Rohildev N, 23-year-old founder and CEO of RHLvision Technologies incubated at Startup Village, will be the youngest speaker at the World Mobile Congress to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 24 to 27.
Other speakers at the congress will be Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and IBM CEO Virginia Rometty. RHLvision Technologies’ product ‘Fin’, a wearable smart ring that can turn your palm into a gesture interface to control multiple devices, is already attracting customers.
“It is a big moment for the team of RHLvision. I hope that the invitation to address the world-class event is in recognition of the tremendous interest that ‘Fin’ can generate in the global startup scenario. I owe my success to Startup Village which gave me a platform to incubate my idea and float my company,” Rohildev said.
RHL had also launched a campaign to introduce ‘Fin’ to the market on the crowdfunding site, Indiegogo, to raise $100,000 over 45 days. The company is said to have raised around $61,047. RHLvision Technologies was one of the top 15 companies at TechCrunch CES Hardware Battlefield in Las Vegas and the only Indian startup to be selected for Pioneers Festival in Austria.
It was also the second runner-up at the Microsoft BizSpark India Startup Challenge 2013.
“The achievement of Rohildev underlines the fact that if the right opportunity is provided to young entrepreneurs in Kerala, they can be among the best in the world,” Startup Village Chairman Sanjay Vijayakumar said.
