As part of National Science Day Celebration, talks were organised at Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara. Sessions were held on ‘Science: Advances and Challenges’ and ‘Fostering Scientific Temper’ under the auspices of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment and Department of Science and Technology.
Tessy Thomas, Project Director, Agni Missile Systems, DRDO, who spoke at the seminar, spoke about the technology entailing missiles and their developments. She also shared anecdotes from her experiences with Project Agni.
Reji Scaria, Senior Manager (R&D) OEN India Pvt Ltd, also spoke at the meet.
He said rising ‘electronic waste’ was an issue and urged the engineers of tomorrow to ponder about and take responsible measures to tackle the problem at hand.
The meet was presided over by V P Devassia. Postal stamps issued by the Indian Postal Department commemorating the silver jubilee of MEC were unveiled during the event.
