Traffic Regulation for Sonia Visit

Traffic will be regulated on Saturday in connection with Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the city.

Traffic will be regulated on Saturday in connection with Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the city.

She will be attending the Nirbhaya Kerala programme at St Albert’s College Ground and later address  the Indian National Congress convention at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.

Traffic will be monitored from 11 am to 3 pm, from Vathuruthy to DCC junction, Hospital Road, Marine Drive, St Albert’s College and Madhav pharmacy.

It will also be regulated at Pallimukku, Fruity junction, Kathrikadavu junction, Pullepady Thammanam road and Karanakodam during the same time.

From  9 am till 4 pm, parking will not be allowed on either sides of the road from Vathuruthy till Vikranth bridge, Thevara junction to Jose junction, BTH, Banerjee Road, Madhava pharmacy, SI road, Pallimukku, fruity junction, Kathrikadavu junction, Karanakodam junction till stadium road.

Vehicles heading for St Albert’s College ground have to park on the road in front of CMFRI office on Goshree road, Chathiath Road and at the Marine Drive pay and park ground.

Vehicles passing through MG Road, High Court via Kaloor should go through the western side of St Albert’s College ground, and drop the passengers and park at the ground.

Vehicles arriving from other parts to the stadium should drop the passengers at Palarivattom round or in front of the stadium and should return to Palarivattom bypass and park the vehicles on the service roads on either side of the national highway.

The parked vehicles should not create any traffic blocks. Small vehicles heading for the stadium should park at the parking ground in front of the Bismi showroom on the eastern side of the JN stadium, Except for service buses, all other vehicles will be regulated on Edappally - High Court Road, Sahodaran Ayyappan Road, Kaloor - Kathrikadavu road, Thammanam - Kathrikadavu road from 9 am till 2 pm on Saturday. No other vehicles will be allowed to park on these roads during the time.

Parking will not be allowed on the road to the main gate of the stadium and the road surrounding the stadium and at the back side of the stadium which leads to Karanakodam-Kathrikadavu road.
