Two-day Seminar Begins

‘Down to Earth’, a national seminar on ecological orientations in literature and arts began at the Department of English, Amrita School of Arts and Science (ASAS) here on Thursday.

‘Down to Earth’, a national seminar on ecological orientations in literature and arts began at the Department of English, Amrita School of Arts and Science (ASAS) here on Thursday.

The two-day seminar was inaugurated by M S Rajan, news editor, The New Indian Express, Kochi.

Swami Poornamritananda Puri, general secretary, Amritanandamayi Math, delivered the blessing speech on the occasion.

U Krishna Kumar, director, ASAS, M Rajesh, HoD, P A Appukuttan and C S Jayaram were also present. Swami Poornamritananda also presented the details of the seminar papers. He released the new issue of ‘Amrita Kiranam’, the newsletter of ASAS, by handing it over to M S Rajan.

The sessions were conducted by Janaki Sreedharan, associate professor and HoD, English, Calicut University and C S Jayaraman, Professor, Department of Visual Media and Communication,  Amrita School of Arts and Science .
