Vidyodaya School Wins Science Quiz

Meenakashi C S and Madhavi Krishnan, students of Vidyodaya School, Thevakkal, emerged winners of the ‘Shastra Samasya 2014’ science quiz. Karthik Ganapathy and Vasudev Chakravarti emerged as the runners up, and Sidharth P and Sudeesh Surendranath acquired the third position. Both the second and third teams were from Adarsha Vidyalaya which also won the ever rolling trophy.

The six finalists, out of 18 teams that took part in this competition, had a challenging time answering the barrage of questions put forward in different rounds by the quiz master John Elias, a former student of Vidyodaya School, who is currently pursuing his BTech course from Rajagiri College of Engineering.

The event was kickstarted by Sameer Abdul Azeez, an avid quiz enthusiast and a scientist at Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory. There were a total of six rounds, from visual clues to definitions. The teams named after planets, battled it out till the last question. After  three tie-breaker questions, the Vidyodaya team were declared the winners of the competition. The cash prizes for the event were sponsored by TIME.
