Palarivattom police on Monday arrested a person for allegedly sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy a few days ago.
The arrested person was identified as Benny, 20, a native of Thumboli in Alappuzha district.
According to the police, the arrested person had gone into hiding after the incident.
The boy, who was playing at a house in Palarivattom, was taken to an isolated place and was sexually abused.
A team led by Sub Inspector S Vijayakumar arrested the accused.
