The International Pepper Community Citation was presented to C V Jacob, chairman, Synthite Industries, on Tuesday. Spices Board chairman A Jayathilak presented the award during the International Pepper Conclave held at the World Trade Centre, Dubai. Jacob was selected for the award in recognition of his contributions to the field of spice oils and oleoresins.
The International Pepper Community is an inter-governmental organisation of pepper producing countries. The community has Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam as permanent members and Papua New Guinea as an associate member.
Synthite Industries in Kochi is the largest supplier of spice oils and oleoresins in the world and a conglomerate with multi-location operations. The company is a winner of the Spices Board awards for leading exporter of Spice Oleoresins and value-added extracts.
Hiroshi Kobayashi from Japan and Do Ha Nam of Vietnam, both from the spice industry, also won the award.
