SBT Pratibha Samman Awards

The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) Pratibha Samman awards for outstanding achievement were announced for M S Swaminathan, T K Jose and K E Faizal at national, state and NRI (pravasi) levels, respectively.

The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) Pratibha Samman awards for outstanding achievement were announced for M S Swaminathan, T K Jose and K E Faizal at national, state and NRI (pravasi) levels, respectively. Renowned agricultural scientist Swaminathan was selected for the award considering his contribution in implementing Green Revolution strategy and creative efforts to promote development of agriculture in our country.

Jose was selected for the innovative formation, implementation and growth of Kudumbasree Mission in Kerala and empowerment of women through self-help groups. Faizal, one of the top-most entrepreneurs in the UAE, was selected for his activities in the fields of infrastructure, healthcare, education, hospitality and agriculture and Faizal-Shabana Foundation, meant for the under-privileged in the society. The awards are instituted for achievements in one’s field of activity, community services, humanitarian activities or charity. Resident Indian citizens or national-level organisations/ institutions are considered for the national-level award and Keralites or state-level organisations/ institutions for state-level awards.

The award includes a bronze memento designed by artist Bhattathiri, a gold medal and a citation.  The awards will be distributed at a function to be held in Thiruvananthapuram.
