Youth Congress state president Dean Kuriakose has urged the Union Government to review the decision to allow oil-manufacturing companies determine price of petroleum products.
“The LPG price hike announced on Wednesday is going to make people’s life miserable. The right to fix price of petroleum products should be vested with the government,” he said, while touring Ernakulam district as part of the Yuva Kerala Yatra. “The YC would register its protest against the decision,” he said.
When pointed out it was the UPA Government which took the decision, the Youth Congress president said a democratic government has the freedom to rectify a wrong decision. “We cannot accept that a common man suffers for the profit of petroleum companies,” he said.
