In a statement issued here on Friday, K C Venugopal, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said he has informed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that the process of linking Aadhaar number with bank accounts of LPG consumers has not yet been completed in the state. Majority of the consumers in the state are running pillar to post for procuring LPG cylinders. The Union Minister sought more time for complying with the rules, as the cost of LPG without subsidies remains above the reach of common man. Venugopal also sought the Prime Minister’s intervention to increase the annual entitlement of subsidised cylinders from the present nine to twelve.
