Actor Mohanlal on Saturday said that if the content of a movie is good, people will definitely accept it wholeheartedly and the success of movie ‘Drishyam’ once gain underlines this fact.

In an interaction held at Ernakulam Press Club in the evening, the actor said it is nice to witness a movie breathing fresh air of life to the theatres here. Director of the movie Jeethu Joseph dedicated the success of the movie to the crew teamwork. “I even got calls from overseas and Malayalees round the globe have expressed their satisfaction and views on my movie,” he said.

On whether the movie justifies crimes, Jeethu said there is no need for any such interpretation. “It was by mistake that the so-called incident happens in the movie. Moreover, the protagonist is not trying to support crime. He is not involved in any criminal activities, but is doing something to save his family,” the director said. Actor Shajon, who gave a notable performance in the movie, said he was getting an overwhelming response.

“The director narrated to me the script of ‘Drishyam’ during the shooting of ‘My Boss’. I thought he might ask me to do some comedy roles in the movie. Instead, he asked me to do the role of Sahadevan, a character with a negative touch. Jeethu said that he had initially approached actor Mammootty to do the character of Georgekutty. “But he had already been roped in for two or three similar roles. He asked me to wait for another year or so. Meanwhile, I met Antony (Perumbavoor), who expressed interest in producing the movie with Mohanlal in the lead. When I narrated to Mohanlal the story, he agreed to do the movie,” Jeethu said.
