Minister for Co-operation C N Balakrishnan inaugurated the ‘Vishwaroopam Bhagvatham Saptaham’ by Udit Chaithanya at the Vadakkunnathan temple in Thrissur on Wednesday. Udit Chaithanya said that ‘Vishwaroopam Bhagvatham’ is not just a religious discourse but a promise to bring about a substantial change in thoughts.

“Today man has become his own foe and people are bent on destroying each other. Only a change in the fundamental thought process can make a positive difference in the society,” he said.

Udit Chaithanya said that the bane of today’s world is that many countries are attempting change and development only in materialistic terms and not at the spiritual level.

“Thirty per cent of our budget is being set aside to acquire more arms and ammunition. A revolutionary change in the mindset of the people can lessen this burden and the money could be used for poverty alleviation and for the development of basic infrastructure. Education system in the country does not encourage free thought and strong sense of decision-making,” he said.

“The main challenge our country today faces is that it does not have the capacity to take strong decisions. But that is the most important skill needed to change the society. The AAP won the election in Delhi when they could take a huge decision and stick to it,” he said.
