The Additional District Medical Officer visited the Taluk Hospital, here,  on Thursday and took statement from Noufia  and husband P K Navas, whose kid suffer deformities allegedly due to medical negligence during child birth at the hospital.

The visit was conducted following a directive issued by Additional District Magistrate B Ramachandran on Wednesday.

The ADMO also took the statements of the  relatives of the couple. The expert panel that accompanied the ADMO examined the infant and verified the deformities.

Noufia had given birth to the child on March 4 at Paravur Taluk Hospital. The couple came to know that the child has some deformities, when they consulted the kid with doctors at the Co-operative Medical College Hospital and Amrita Hospital later.

Reports from both the hospitals cited medical negligence as the prime reason for the child’s disabilities.

As a result, the parents and relatives  of the child staged protests seeking compensation and suspension of the gynaecologist concerned.
