Cartoonex-2014, organised by Kerala Cartoon Academy, was held at  Changampuzha Park at Edappally on Friday. The expo was inaugurated by  K Balachandran, president, Changampuzha Cultural Centre.

The social awareness cartoons that targeted the youth and children were put up by the Kerala Road Safety Authority and Motor Vehicles.

The exhibition also featured the works of renowned cartoonist Sankar.

Over 50 cartoons, the masterpieces of one of the nation’s best cartoonist, was displayed at the expo.

A workshop for children led by famous cartoonists Sajeev, Sukumar, P V Krishnan and Ibrahim Badhusha was also held. The cartoonists introduced children to caricatures and doodles. The children were shown the way English  alphabets turned into politicians, animals and people. They were surprised  to see their caricatures portrayed instantly on the frame. A seminar on road safety was held in the evening which was inaugurated by Deputy Transport Commissioner P A Sainudheen.

The seminar came to an end by awarding Adarsh Kumar G Nair (Joint RTO) the Kerala cartoon Academy award for his service.
