ALUVAFunds for widening the Vengoor-Nayathode Airport road, which connects Angamaly to Nedumbassery airport, were released on Friday. “A letter of credit for `15.2 crore has been released by the government for land acquisition. The work will commence as soon as the funds start coming in,” said Jose Thettayil MLA.
The renovated Vengoor-Nayathode road could become the easiest route to reach Angamaly from the airport.
“Discussions on renovating the road were on for quite some time now. Even though the administrative sanction for the construction was approved long ago, the funds were released only on Friday,” he said.
