KOCHI: ‘Metroman’ E Sreedharan was appointed by the Central Government as the one-man committee to provide recommendations for enhancing the efficiency of the Indian Railways.
Sreedharan will be suggesting a proper system and procedures to ensure accountability and transparency at various levels while taking commercial decisions, including the tendering process, thereby delegating power to the operational-level.
“The committee will submit an interim report within two weeks, and a final report within a period not exceeding three months from the date of its constitution,” stated a government order issued in this regard recently.
Sreedharan, the principal adviser to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), is at present heading the ongoing Kochi Metro Rail project.
