Hundreds Take Part in Spice Coast Marathon

KOCHI: Around 1,000 runners from Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa and different parts of the state took part in the Spice Coast Marathon organised by one of the largest running groups in India, ‘Soles of Cochin’. Many runners from the USA, Dubai and other  countries also took part.

 The event had a full marathon, a half marathon, a family fitness awareness run of 5 km and a half marathon corporate relay. Various cultural, fitness and social messages   were spread.

While the Kochi-Muziris Biennale sent out the message of art, the Y’s Men International reaffirmed their commitment to society, social service and good health by being active participants in providing support in the form of water stations throughout the 42.2-km course. Amity International students provided on course volunteer support. The PVS Memorial Hospital provided the all crucial medical aid in the form of physiotherapists, doctors, nursing staff and a ambulance support.
