Downpour Hampers Road Repair Work

KOCHI: The road restoration work supposed to be carried out by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as instructed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is expected to be delayed owing to the heavy rain.

In a statement issued by the DMRC on Wednesday, officials stated that though they have been able to restore 65 per cent of the roads in those areas where the Metro works are being carried out, they are unable to complete it due to the rains.

“The DMRC has commenced filling up the potholes on the entire stretch of Metro alignment from Aluva to Kadavanthra almost immediately.

Unfortunately, continuous wet spells hampered the work.

If we get two consecutive days of sunshine, we will be able to restore the work within 3 to 4 days,” officials said.
