International Film Fest from Thursday

KOCHI: The Arts Lab Foundation will organise an International Film Festival at Kochi from September 11 to 15 at Ernakulam Children’s Park Theatre.

Bolgatty International Film Festival 2014  will give film lovers from Kochi a chance to see the best world cinema, as well as for film makers to see their work. The event is committed to the promotion of knowledge, life and culture, as it comes through from films and documentaries, made by people worldwide. The fest celebrates an extraordinary group of of talented filmmakers who have deployed their craft and skills in the exploration of pertinent  subjects like culture, environment, history, gender, music and performing  arts, religeon, politics, as well as human rights issues.

The film fest consists of 150 films from 34 countries. Films from 26 languages will be screened in five days.

This festival will also become a window to the lives and realities of people and cultures around the world. The screening categories are experimental films, animation films, documentaries, feature films, music videos and short films. The inaugural film is ‘Humanexus’ which is directed by Ying­Fang Shen which belongs to the experimental category from USA.
