Two Persons Held for Theft

KOCHI: The North Paravoor Police on Saturday arrested two persons on charge of theft, in two separate incidents. Mithun Lal, 25, of Ezhikkara, was arrested for stealing a box containing money that was offered at the Ezhikkara Sastha Temple. The accused was a frequent visitor at the temple. The box was later recovered from him, the police said.

  In the separate case, Siby, 21, of Nayarambalam, was arrested for attempting to snatch a gold chain worth `45,000, from a woman. The incident occurred when the victim was walking towards the private bus stand at Paravoor on Saturday. Siby was apprehended when the woman raised an alarm during the theft attempt.
