KOCHI: Something special is in store for all the tourist heading to Fort Kochi. And what’s better than a walk down the lane of history? A heritage walk will be organised for tourists on the ‘World Tourism Day’ on September 27.

The walk will be spearheaded by three historians from the city. They will take the tourists to 19 different heritage locations around Fort Kochi. Each location has an interesting history behind it. The historians will explain the history of Fort Kochi right from the year 1341 to the present day.

Antony, one of the historians heading the walk, said , “ The walk involves telling of  stories that had never found its way into the pages of history,  reveal history, some age old secrets and treasures in a very gripping manner. It will be a very informative and enjoyable experience.”  The walk will begin at 8 in the morning and last for two hours.

As of now no limitations have been kept regarding the number of participants decided but if the number of tourists increase a second session from 4.30  to 6.30 in the evening may be arranged.  The ‘Heritage Walk’ will cost  Rs 200. For more more information contact Antony at 9447116702.
