KOCHI: The All-Kerala Garhika Thozhilali Union (NTUI) will stage a protest on Tuesday demanding the implementation of the ILO guidelines for domestic workers. “Though the ILO recommendations were passed four years ago, they are yet to be implemented in India. We have forwarded a request to the Central Government to consider implementation of the recommendations as soon as possible,” said  NTUI state president Vishwakala Thankappan in a press release.

“There are at least 9 crore domestic workers in India. If implemented, the ILO recommendations would improve the working standards of the labourers. The domestic labourers deserve government intervention to improve their working condition as they contribute significantly to nation building,” stated the press release.
