KOCHI: Jankalyan Society, an Ernakulam based NGO association, kicked off an noble initiative at the fishermen colony.
They distributed study materials to the children at the colony. The society distributed study materials such as bags, umbrellas, notebooks and other materials to the students residing at Manassery. As many as 97 students received the school materials. The society also distributed prizes to those who had scored high marks in SSLC and Plus Two examinations. Sreelakshmi who secured the highest marks in CBSE Plus Two examination from Kerala region also honoured during the event.
N L Mittal, chairman Jan Kalyan Society, inaugurated the event. K K Sharma, Mukund R Mehta, S S Agarwal, Magie Siementhy, Deputy Collector, K P Alexander and Jesney Antony also attended the programme.
