KOCHI: Education Assessment and Rating (ERA) Foundation, an NGO that dabbles in education, has announced the launch of first of its kind single entrance exam in about 16 major cities for many universities, ‘UNI-GAUGE PGTech 2015Â’, for students seeking admission in post graduate courses in Technology and Engineering. The courses include MTech (Master of Technology) and ME (Master of Engineering).
With ‘Uni-GAUGE PGTech 2015’, candidates seeking admission to MTech and ME courses now have the facility to write a single exam and apply for admission to many universities (participating with ERA). This is a pan-India, computer based test which will be conducted in association with TCS iON. ERA will provide a score and it will be used as one of the criteria for admission to participating Universities/Institutions.
As of now leading private and deemed universities like M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (Karnataka), Reva University (Karnataka), Saveetha University (Tamilnadu), SCSVMV University (Tamilnadu), Periyar Maniammai University (Tamilnadu), KL University ( Andhra Pradesh), Karpagam University (Tamilnadu) are in the Uni-GAUGE PGTech 2015 platform.
“We have successfully conducted two National Exams, Uni-GAUGE PGMD and EMeD, which were highly appreciated by the universities and accepted by the students. More than 20,000 students from across the country applied for these exams,” said B N Subramanya, CEO, ERA Foundation. The qualifying examination for admission to MTech or ME course is BE/BTech or equivalent examination recognized by the state/Central Government.
