KOCHI:CBI has recorded the statement of around 150 nurses who were to be recruited to Kuwait by Uthup Varghese by taking excessive service charge. According to CBI officials, several nurses have given statement which helped the investigation in the case.
After the CBI registered case against Uthup, several nurses approached the CBI against him. Based on the complaint filed by a Kottarakara native, the case was first registered. “Till now around 150 nurses have given statement to us. The reports that nurses are not cooperating with our investigation are not true,” K Krishna Kumar, SP, CBI said.
Apart from Al Zarafa, the CBI also registered case against eight other recruitment agencies including Pan Asia, Globe and Globe, Dhanush, JK Enterprise, Midiline and Skyline in Kochi. Other agencies are Mathew International and Mumbai-based recruitment agency Munavvara Associates. , Pan Asian Tours and Travels, Changanassery, and Trust International Overseas Manpower, Adoor.
L Adolfus was accused in three cases. He was recently released on bail after arrested one month ago.
