KOCHI: The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court (for the Trial of Cases of Atrocities against Women and Children) on Friday granted life imprisonment to a 46-year-old person on charges of murdering his mother, wife and daughter. Sajith of Thotakatukara, Aluva, was found guilty and sentenced for the triple murder by Additional Sessions Court Judge K T Nizar. Though the prosecution submitted to grant capital punishment to the accused, the court observed that the case could not be considered as ‘rarest of the rare’.
On October 20, 2008, Sajith’s mother Marykkutty, 72; wife Shimmy 31; and six-year-old daughter Greeshma were found murdered in their house.
