'Protect Champakkara Fish Market'

KOCHI: The CPM has urged the state government, the city corporation and the KMRL to avoid a situation that would lead to the closure of Champakkara fish market.

 The authorities concerned should ensure that thousands of people directly and indirectly make a living depending on the 200- year-old Champakkara fishing market here are not be affected by the metro rail construction, CPM district secretary P Rajeeve said after visiting the market here the other day.
