8th Edition of Illuminati Quiz

KOCHI: The quizzing fraternity of Government Model Engineering College, launched the 8th edition of The Illuminati Quiz (TIQ).

One of South India’s largest and much awaited quizzing extravaganza, The Illuminati Quiz is held in memory of its founder, Sandeep Menon who passed away after a brave battle with cancer.

The Illuminati Quiz 2015, was conducted as an open quiz event unlike any of its predecessors which were conducted purely as school and college quiz competitions. Also ushering in a new phase was its association with Excel 2015, MEC’s annual national techno managerial fest, as an Excel Pro Event. The quiz garnered interest from a vast number of participants from across the region. The event is held annually in affiliation with the Sandeep Menon Foundation, an NGO set up by his family which helps people to battle against cancer.

The quiz was officially inaugurated by Sandeep’s parents, and brother, Duleep Menon, along similar paths as the previous years. The quiz was hosted by Major Chandrakanth Nair. The quiz comprised of two major rounds from which the winners were selected. The top 8 teams were selected for the final round and they battled it out with their efforts to answer the thirty questions in the preliminary round. In the final round, the teams confronted a challenging set of fifty questions which tested their knowledge in different arenas.

After a tough battle, the team comprising of Sooraj Menon and  Venkat Subramanian came out as winners of The Illuminati Quiz 2015. The winners were awarded a cash prize worth Rs 20,000, certificates and trophies.
