It's Round 16 for Excel Fest

KOCHI: After the logo launch of the 16th edition of Excel, the annual national techno-managerial fest of Govt Model Engineering College, earlier this year, the official website,, and android application for Excel 2015 was launched the other day by District Collector M G Rajamanickam.

Excel, nation’s second and South India’s first ever fest of its kind was launched in 2001 by the students of Govt Model Engineering College with a motto, ‘Inspire, Innovate, Engineer’. Over the years, Excel has grown exponentially, consistently playing host to some of the most talented students, the most illustrious speakers and the most reputed companies. Now gearing towards its 16th edition, Excel continues to excite the participants with its wide array of technical and non-technical events and with a promise to live upto its motto.

The 16th edition of Excel is expected to play host to participants from over 2,000 colleges and 1,000 schools. Online events such as Kryptos, an online treasure hunt and Dalal Bull, a competition based on real time stock market and virtual money, Include and HackMaster for the coding enthusiasts and an Online Photography contest will also be launched along with the website.

The students of Govt Model Engineering College built the website and application from scratch, without any professional assistance.
