Students to Present Plays on Water

KOCHI: Sacred Heart College, Thevara, is hosting an international arts training, outreach and mini-festival programme ‘Water in Kerala: Performance, Science’, in association with the college’s dance club.The project focuses on sharing water stories through theatre and dance. ‘Water in Kerala’ is being directed by Kanta Kochhar-Lindgren, PhD (Folded Paper Dance and Theatre, Seattle/Hong Kong), with projector partners, Sen Jansen T F (Kochi) and Rag Saseendrababu (Kollam), along with US guest artists, Morgen Chang, Aaron Gabriel, and Beth Graczyk, besides Indian guest artist Jebin Jesmes from Ernakulam.

SH is providing this as a part of their academic studies for the students with credit marks and international certificates. In addition to a workshop from August 16-22, in which selected Sacred Heart College students will perform.

On August 21, ‘In Praise of Water’ will highlight students’ work, and ‘River to River’, which focuses on the Periyar River and Mississippi River, will showcase the talents of the international performers.

On August 22, Mapping Water, a water game, and River is a Line, will share some tales about water and science.
