15 Migrants Arrested for Murder

KOCHI:The Kuruppampady Police on Sunday arrested 15 migrants working in a veneer factory near Odakkali, in connection with the murder of an Assam native.

According to the police, the arrested persons confessed to attacking the deceased on Saturday morning, after he tried to steal their belongings.

The police recovered the body near a migrant labour camp. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, while he is believed to be an Assam-native aged 20-23.  According to the police, the youth died due to excessive bleeding.

“A murder case has been registered against the 15 persons who were arrested on Sunday. The accused allegedly beat up the youth and locked him in a room, where he bled to death. Once finding him dead, the accused allegedly shifted the body and dumped it outside the camp,” the police said.
