PIRAVOM: As part of the Onam celebrations the Piravom boat race will be held on August 25 at Piravom river. A total of 20 boats including, six snake boats will participate in the race.
Snake boats Jawahar Thayankari, Karichal, Chambakulam, Cheruthana, Sree Ganesh and Payaippadan will participate in the race.
Minister for Forest Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the event at 2 pm. Cultural programmes and processions were arranged as part of the Onam celebrations.
Minister for Civil Supplies Anoop Jacob inaugurated the celebrations the other day.
District Tourism Promotion Council S Suhas flagged off the procession.
