KOCHI: Eastern Condiments honoured some eminent women on the occasion of Women’s Day. Sushma Sreekandath, managing director and CEO of AVT McCormick was the chief guest at the function. Psychologist Manjusha Emmanuel delivered the keynote address.
‘Eastern-Bhoomika Iconic Women of Your Life’, endeavour was a one of its kind campaign. The inherent strength and stoical forbearance of ordinary women were honoured by Eastern during the international women’s day.
A 60 word description of the nominee along with her photo was posted on Facebook and the organisers selected 17 out of them.
Margaret, Jyoti, Kala Jayan, Molikkutty, Cristale, Aparna, Soorajadevi, Seema, Reshmi Deepak, Arya Devi, Sainaba, Swapna Augustine, Sophie M Joy, Preetha Prabhakaran, Soumya Parameshwaran, Mariyath C H, and Devi are the 17 women honoured by Eastern.
Navas Meeran, chairman, Eastern Group said that it is a matter of pride that out of 47 per cent women employees of Eastern, 22 per cent are in management positions. “The excellent response to ‘Eastern-Bhoomika Iconic Women of Your Life’ campaign illustrates the influence of women in our society,” said Firoz Meeran, managing director, Eastern Group.
