Accused in FICN Case Held after 18 Years

KOCHI:The Organised Crime Wing (OCW) of the Crime Branch, Ernakulam, on Saturday arrested an accused in a fake Indian currency case, who had been absconding for the past 18 years.  The arrested has been identified as Rejimon alias Kunjumon, 60, of Muzhavannoor in the Ernakulam district. According to detective inspector T C Ayyappan, in 1997,  the accused gave fake notes of denomination 100 at a bar in Kolenchery.The Puthencruz police registered a case, which was later handed over to the Crime Branch. The accused, who was released on bail after being arrested, went into hiding.   Later, based on a report filed by the police, the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Kolenchery, declared the accused as ‘wanted’.
