Kochi Metro Review Meeting on May 11

KOCHI:The review meeting of Kochi Metro rail to assess the progress of the work will be held at the office of the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) on May 11. The meeting will be held in the presence of Minister for Power Aryadan Mohammed and will be attended by officials of KMRL and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Since the authorities are planning to complete the construction of Kochi Metro rail from Aluva to Maharajah’s College by June 2016, the meeting will discuss the steps required to finish the work within the stipulated time.

The delay in commencement of construction activities for the stations will be one of the major hurdles that the officials need to  sort out. The delay in land acquisition is cited as one of the major reasons for the delay by the contractors. There will be detailed discussions at the meeting in this regard. The other topics of discussions will include the installation of girders, the widening of roads and the shortage of workers for construction.
