Seminar on Social Enterprise

KOCHI:The Association of British Scholars, together with the British Council and the Institute of Small Enterprises and Development (ISED), will organise a seminar on ‘Social Enterprise’ at IMA Hall here on Saturday.

Helen Vines from the United Kingdom, who has considerable expertise in development of social enterprise both as a practitioner and consultant, will speak on ‘Social Enterprise as a Pro-social Economy - a UK Perspective’. She will provide an overview of the evolution of social enterprise policy and practice in the UK;  and its ecosystem involving enterprise characteristics, legal structures, key players and their roles.

The talk is expected to throw light on the best practices and policy lessons that could be explored or adapted to the objective situation of India and the state of Kerala.

Development practitioners, entrepreneurs, planners, social activists, students, researches and enthusiasts in local development can participate in the seminar.
