KOCHI: ESAF Microfinance is sponsoring the first official beach football league in India that commenced in Kozhikode on May 8. It will be on till May 17. ESA media organises the event in association with Kerala Football Association and Kozhikode District Football Association.
Men and women representing nine teams from Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur, Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta, and Wayanad districts are participating in the tournament.
“The league aims at giving opportunities to football talents from rural and coastal corners of the state. We are proud to partner with it,” said K Paul Thomas, chairman and managing director, ESAF Microfinance.
