Aksharotsavam to be Held on June 7

KOCHI: ‘Aksharotsavam’ the lower primary equivalency examination under the Athulya project, will be held on June 7. A total of 17,910 people from 84 grama panchayats and Kochi Corporation will take part in the examination. 7,350 people attending the exam are above 50.

A meeting was held with the three-tier panchayat presidents and preraks for  evaluation of Athulya project at the district panchayat hall. Bindu George, district panchayat vice-president inaugurated the meeting. State Literacy Mission Director K Ayyappan Nair headed the discussion. K V Ratheesh, District Project Coordinator, presided over.

Corporation Education Standing Committee chairman R Thyagarajan, Alangodu block panchayat president Rani Mathai, Angamaly block panchayat president Mary Antony and Vazhakulam block panchayat president E P Shameer were present. As part of the Athuyla project, vocational training, eye testing camps, spectacle distribution, study tours, regional syllabus making and light food distribution in classes will be held.
