BSNL Extends Its Free Call Scheme

KOCHI: The BSNL on Friday informed that its unlimited free calling scheme for landline users has been extended to all ‘Combo Plans’, with effect from June 1.   The scheme that started on May 1, for calls made between  9 pm and 7 am, was not applicable for all plans.

The Ernakulam SSA has installed an IVRS facility - with toll-free number 18004251176 - for subscribers to check whether the new scheme is applicable for their landlines, or not.

Subscribers who do not have the ‘free night calling’ facility can also change their landline plan to new plans after contacting the customer care centre.  A BSNL press release stated that the new offer would not be available for BSNL employees, retired staff, institutions that have taken schemes at concessional rates, public telephone booths and for existing plans with free incoming call facility.   “The scheme is expected to benefit the majority of the users,” it  said.
