KMA Declares Manager of the Year Award

KOCHI: The Kerala Management Association (KMA) has selected G Anilkumar, associate vice-president (HR) at Carborundum Universal Ltd, for this year’s ‘Manager of the Year Award.

The award is a unique honour the Kerala Management Associationconfers on individual managers in the senior management hierarchy for outstanding contributions towards improving productivity, quality, profitability, industrial relations etc., using scientific management principles, in the manufacturing and service industries.

Anilkumar is a postgraduate in Human Resources Management from Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram, and a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Kerala. Anilkumar, who is also a Law graduate from the University of Kerala, has 23 years of hands-on experience spread over the complete gamut of HR profession in firms like CUMI, Binani Zinc Ltd,

Reliance Retail Ltd, English Indian Clays Ltd and Precot Mills. He is recipient of the first ‘Outstanding HR Manager of the Year Award’ instituted by the NIPM-Kerala

Chapter, and the ‘Manager of the Year Award’ from NIPM, Palakkad, in 2007.

He was selected for the award by a panel of eminent jury constituted by the Kerala Management Association. The award will be presented by Department of Labour and Skills principal secretary Tom Jose on May 25 at the Management House, Panampilly Nagar, Kochi.

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and certificate.
