KOCHI:Stressing for an Islamic renaissance on the lines of faith and by renewing the accord reached with the creator in spiritual world, Quthubuzzaman Shaikh Yousuf Sulthan Shah Qadiry Chishthy, the spiritual guide of Qadiriyya Sufi Order, slammed the Islamic Scholars’ councils for competing to misinterpret Islam and for pushing youths to terrorism and extremism. Inaugurating the Islamic Conference organised by the Gousiyya Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama here on Saturday, the leader who is known as Quthubuzzaman, slammed the scholars for forming and nurturing organisations in the name of the religion to protect their selfish interests.
Scholars’ Councils were competing to misinterpret Islam and convince the believers that Islam means some organisations and by this they push youth into terrorism and extremism. This proves their decadence, Quthubuzzaman opined. He underscored the need for Islamic renaissance and a return to traditions.
