KOCHI: Bollywood Actor Kalki Koechlin, who has proved her acting prowess in a variety of films, will endorse the ‘Cinema for Care’ section at the upcoming All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) slated to go on floors here from November 15.
ALIIFF will have dedicated showcases on Regional Cinema and in order to brand and represent all prominent film fraternities in Indian Filmdom, the organisers have six popular faces having immense star value and big fan base such as Mohan Lal ( Malayalam Cinema), Kamal Hassan ( Tamil Cinema), Daggubati Venkatesh (Telugu Cinema) Prosenjit Chatterjee ( Bengali Cinema), SubodhBhave( Marathi Cinema). These stars will be brand ambassadors of their language along with Kalki Koechlin, while Manju Warrier is the brand ambassador for Cinema for Women section.
Cinema for Care, is a thematic showcase dedicated for creating awareness about disability issues through the medium of films and to foster integration in society by spreading the message of ability. UNESCO is the patron and authoritative endorser of ‘Cinema for Care’ as the organization has been involving in activities to empower people with disabilities over the past years. KalkiKoechlin has done a good job as a character with cerebral palsy in Shonali Bose’s ‘Margarita with a Straw’. She has agreed to represent this section as it will bring to the fore movies from across the globe that aims at creating awareness on disabilities and how these can be overcome with proper care. Taking place alongside with South Asia’s biggest film market, Indywood Film Market (IFM), ALIIFF primarily aims at uniting the fragmented film fraternities in Indian Filmdom into numerouno under the brand name ‘Indywood’. Another interesting highlight of this event is that it will be a platform for South Asia’s largest Film Market called IFM,that shall facilitate production and distribution deals of international films in Indian Market and sales of Indian Cinema to International Market.
IFM comprises of Exhibitions, where buying and selling of international films, devices or services become possible under one roof.
