KOCHI: A memorandum of understandings (MoU) worth `57.1 crore was signed during the three day Biofach India - India Organic Fair 2015 held at Angamaly. As many as 273 business meets were held as part of the fair. Around 23 buyers including 12 from abroad participated in the event. Around 80 international delegates participated and there were around 173 exhibitors. Representatives from Italy, Germany, Singapore along with participants from 10 states attended the fair.
The three day Bio Fair stressed upon the need to ensure more profit through organic farming and finding more markets for the products. The experts at the conference were of the view that bio farming can be promoted only by stopping the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
