Kerala Lalithakala Academy has invited entries for its annual state-wide exhibition and awards. The event will provide artists a wide exposure and the opportunity to interact with contemporaries. Applications can be send in the categories of painting, drawing, graphic print, and sculpture.
Five creative works will be selected for awards. Apart from this, five works will be chosen for honourable mention and five others for special mention awards. Gold medals and endowments will be presented to nature paintings and portraits of outstanding merit.
The artists who wish to participate in the exhibition are required to send the applications with the following documents: 10 inch/25 centimeters long photographs of three art works done after 2014; details about the length, widhth, and medium of the work and in the case of sculptures, the sqft measurement, heightand medium; the title of the work; a short bio-data of the artist along with full address and phone number. The applications should be sent to Secretray, Kerala Lalithakala Academy, Trissur-20 on or before December 15. The cover should be marked - State Exhibition 2016. If the sender desires to receive the photographs back, a cover with your full address and the required postage stamp should be enclosed.
The artists selected for the exhibition will receive intimation from the Academy. The works of all the artists who pass the initial screening will be included in the exhibition. The works, framed and presentable, should be brought to the Durbar Hall art gallery, Kochi in within 15 days of receiving intimation. The artists should also submit the entry forms along with the works.
All participants are required to be over 18 years of age as on January 2015. They should be active in their field of interest. The application forms can be downloaded form the Academy’s official website www.lalithakala.org.
