KOCHI: The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court the other day sentenced two persons for life imprisonment in the sensational Puthenvelikkara rape case, in which a minor girl was sexually abused by several persons in 2006. On Thursday, the court granted life imprisonment to Rajeev, 32, of Venjaramoodu and Lijith, 24, of Kizhuppadam.
The court also asked the prosecution to seek assistance of the District Legal Service Authority to arrange fund for rehabilitation of the victim.
The case is that the victim, who had visited the rented house of Rajeev to watch Television on the day of the incident, was taken to another house and sexually abused by several persons.
