KOCHI:The City police officials on Saturday arrested Shahanas P A alias Abdulla, 22, who acted as a messenger for suspected Lakshkar-e-Taiba southern commander Thadiyantavide Nazeer from Ernakulam North Railway station premises. The police have recovered eight letters including one containing names of witnesses in the sensational Bangalore blast case, who can be turned hostile. “He has been acting as a messenger of Nazeer for the last five years. He use to meet Nazeer at jail and at court premises where the letters were handed over. We have charged case under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act(UAPA). NIA officers interrogated him on Saturday. The information also have been sent to Police Headquarter,” said S T Suresh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Ernakulam.
