KOCHI:The City Police on Sunday booked six autorickshaw drivers on charges of assaulting employees of a private bus plying between Aluva and Mattancherry. The assailants are yet to be identified.

“The autorickshaw drivers manhandled the crew of the bus at Ravipuram, over an incident in which the bus allegedly collided with an autorickshaw at Thoppumpady the other day. When the attack took place, there were no passengers inside the bus, as the vehicle was being taken for maintenance,” said an official of the Ernakulam South police station.

It is learnt that the owner of the bus, ‘Amrita’, has provided the CCTV footage of the incident to the police. The injured crew members - driver Sujith, 25, and conductor Haris, 28 - have been admitted to the Ernakulam General Hospital.
