WE Summit 2015 on Thursday

KOCHI: The first Women Entrepreneurs Summit in the state, WE Summit 2015,  organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), will be held at Bolgatty Island on November 19. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the function.  Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty will preside over the function. Former Governor and Union Minister Margaret Alva will deliver the special address.

More than 1,000 invited women entrepreneurs from the State are expected to attend the one-day summit.

“The one-to-one meeting with women entrepreneurs across sectors will help them identify the areas of opportunities. They would also be able to meet e-commerce experts and explore opportunities to tie up with global retail major like Wallmart. The WE Summit 2015 will address the problems faced by the women entrepreneurs in the state, and help them take their ventures to the next level,” said Dr M Beena, Managing Director, KSIDC.

The inaugural session will be followed by sectoral sessions during which the participants will be able to interact with industry stalwarts, government officials, research institutes, experts from various fields and successful technopreneurs.

 K V Thomas MP, MLAs Hibi Eden, S Sarma, Patricia Barandun, Deputy Representative, UN  Women - India, Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary Ministry of Steel, Shalini Warrier, COO,Federal Bank, Rajneesh Kumar,V-P Walmart India and K B Valsalakumari, Executive Director, Kudumbashree will participate.
