Palm Chopping: Mastermind Remanded

KOCHI:  The NIA Court on Thursday remanded the suspected mastermind in the palm chopping case to judicial custody, after the NIA completed its eight-day-long interrogation.

M K Nazar, 46, of Marangattu House, Kunjunnikkara, Aluva, the third accused in the case, was remanded to judicial custody until December 3 by NIA Court Judge S Santhosh Kumar when he was produced at the court on Thursday morning. Nazar submitted that he was tortured by NIA officials, and showed bruises on his elbow as proof.

However, he did not file complaint against the NIA officials. Later, he was shifted to the Ernakulam District Jail at  Kakkanad.
