KOCHI: There is no doubt that food is the best medicine available in the world and vegetables top the category. But they can be called medicine only if they are devoid of pesticides. Even though most people are aware of the pesticide content in the vegetables they purchase from the market, most still go for such produce. The time and shortage of space is what many point out for staying away from organic vegetable cultivation. The Veg House, a Kochi-based organisation, has come up with a solution to this issue through their veg house to cultivate organic vegetables for domestic purpose. According to the firm, it will plant the organic vegetable garden in the size of 7.4 sq m or 10.4 sq m within a structure constructed with polycarbonate panel. As the structure is equipped with automatic drip irrigation, insect net, water filter, organic mix, electronic valve and plant supporter, no more care is needed for the plants.
“The garden will provide pure organic vegetables as it will be free from insects, pesticides and seasonal issues. We also offer one-year maintenance services. For the annual maintenance, we will charge a certain amount as well,” says Martin, who manages the stall at the venue.
